DAY -106

Well, it took a little longer than 100 days, but we are finally going to be packing our bags and heading home tomorrow. Jan still needs to finish out her two week regiment of I.V. anti-fungal medication, which she will complete tomorrow. It has now been one week short of four months since we've been home, so we're ready head back to Valrico. Jan will still require weekly labs, but hopefully the daily clinic visits and repeated hospital admissions are history. She will still be monitored closely, and will still be required to stay on an immunosuppressed diet for a few more months. She's still taking about ten different medications daily, and that will probably continue for many more months. She uses her walker quite a bit, but she does take short walks without it. She is much improved physically from where she was just a few short weeks ago, and we expect her to continue to get stronger each day.

The is a light at the end of this tunnel and it is shining toward Valrico. Your Uncle and cousins in Georgia are rejoicing that you'll can finally go home. I know it won't be long before you can bring that motorcycle to Georgia and go riding with us!!! We love you and continue to pray for your recovery.

It is always wonderful to see prayers answered. I can see the smile on your faces. Oh! to sleep in your own bed and wake up to the birds singing. We are all so happy for you. Take it slow and easy and soon we will all be going out to lunch. May God continue to bless you Rose G

This is the BEST news!! So happy to hear you BOTH get to go home! What a welcome relief, I'm sure. I can't imagine what it would be like to be away from home for that length of time. Now home will feel like a much needed vacation- your little oasis in Valrico!! After you are settled back in a little while, we will give you a call. Take care and rest much!! We love you!!
