Saturday - November 3rd.
Jan had her third bone marrow biopsy yesterday. This one is causing more pain and discomfort than the other two. She also had the two needles in her port (which has been sutured into her upper chest) replaced. This procedure must be done each week. It was quite painful when it was done the last time. Yesterday they offered to use a topical anesthetic first, and that ended up being a big improvement. Her chest pains have diminished, only to be replaced by the aches and pains associated with the two procedures outlined above. She is still taking four antibiotics, two by mouth, and two by I.V. Her white count remains near zero, so special care must still be taken. Her food is specially prepared and washed, doctors and nurses must sanitize their hands when entering and leaving her room, and she must still wear a face mask whenever she leaves her room. Her appetite still has not returned, but she is eating some, in small portions. She spent a good part of the day sleeping while I diverted my attention for a few hours by going to the USF game. While I was gone she managed to spill her Pepsi into her side table drawer and spent thirty minutes cleaning up the mess. I told her they have people here to handle that, but she said if she made the mess, she should be the one who has to clean it up (as long as it wasn't pee or poop). Those are her words, not mine. More tomorrow. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour tonight.

Good Morning, the air is crisp and reminds me of the mountains, with bike rides and beautiful foliage. I am glad you and Tony got to take a walk outside yesterday to enjoy it for yourself.
Mary M, I am sure is my school friend of 64 years ago.
I love you and wishing you Enough, Mom
Hi Mom. Just got back from SLC last night. Still waiting on my luggage. But that's another story...
Can't wait to share photos and movies of my trip. You should know that your grandson is growing into one sweet little boy. I am always amazed how he changes from visit to visit. He's so smart and funny and has the energy of the Energizer Bunny. We'll get him down here for a visit in December. Not too long from now.
Hang in there Mom. I love you!!!

Hi Jan
Just finished watching the Buc game, another nail biter til the end. Hope you could watch.
wishing you nothing but good news tomorrow. We will all be holding positive thoughts for you.
Love Bill, Christy and the girls.
Jan - we got back late Sunday afternoon from our weekend trip and I got caught up on the latest developments. I also wish for the best of news tomorrow and wish your pain would vanish. I can't be objective with my comments on your scrubs because they remind me of work but your new cut is adorable! I think about you constantly and wish I was there again. Hang in there and that goes for Tony too. Love you both...Lainey
Just another thought to put you in a "good" place - here, up North in Ga., it is a beautiful, windy 60ish day with multiple colors of red, yellow, orange, green and brown swirling masses of fallen leaves. Picture yourself riding (by motorcycle of course) through the mountains, making those hairpin turns at 20 MPH, hugging your knees close to Tony, with your arms around his waist, hanging on for dear life? You've been there before and you'll both be there again - Keep those good moments in your mind and get through another day. Love you lots..Lainey
